Abstract:
Water-soluble formazan dyes represented in the form of free acid by general formula (I), wherein R represents an optionally substituted lower alkyl group, X represents an optionally substituted phenylene or naphthylene group, Y represents a group of -SO2CH=CH2 or -SO2C2H4W (wherein W represents a group capable of being eliminated by the action of alkali), Z represents a lower alkylamino, phenylamino or naphthylamino group having one or two water-soluble groups selected from among hydroxy, sulfo and carboxyl groups, and a method of dyeing with same.
