Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a water treatment apparatus and a water treatment method with which it is possible to remove biofilm and scale adhering to an electrode surface more reliably. A water treatment apparatus (100) is provided with: a first granular electrode member (18) and a second granular electrode member (19) stored in a water treatment unit (1) and separated by a separator (21); an electric power source unit (20) for applying voltage between the first granular electrode member (18) and the second granular electrode member (19) to desalinate water being treated that is supplied from one end of the water treatment unit (1) by adsorbing and removing ions contained in the water being treated on the first granular electrode member (18) and the second granular electrode member (19) and generate desalinated water; and a washing water supply pump (4) for causing washing water to flow to the one end of the water treatment unit (1) from the other end of the water treatment unit (1) to wash the first granular electrode member (18) and the second granular electrode member (19). The first granular electrode member (18) and the second granular electrode member (19) each comprise multiple flowable granular electrode members.
