Abstract:
It was discovered through experiments that a group of zeolite particles (12) oxidizes Fe(II) ions, thereby changing the Fe(II) ions into Fe(III) precipitates. In addition, it was discovered through experiments that the group of zeolite particles (12) flocculates the Fe(III) precipitates. Furthermore, it was discovered through experiments that the group of zeolite particles (12) functions as a filter medium that removes flocculated Fe(III) precipitates from to-be-treated water. Accordingly, a water treatment apparatus 100 was developed which comprises an iron content removing tank (2) that includes the group of zeolite particles (12) as a filter medium so as to remove iron content composed of the Fe(II) ions and the Fe(III) precipitates.
