Abstract:
A water treatment system is provided. The water treatment system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an electrocoagulation unit for electro-coagulating contaminants contained in raw water supplied from the outside through cations generated from an sacrificial electrode, wherein the treatment capacity of the electrocoagulation unit for the raw water introduced therein is 2m3/h or higher; and a filtration unit including filter media for filtering out coagulations contained in electro-coagulated water introduced from the electrocoagulation unit, wherein the filtration efficiency of the filter media for the coagulations is 98% or higher, and the filtrate flow rate through the filter media is 2m3/h or higher. Accordingly, the water treatment system: can effectively coagulate contaminants contained in a large amount of raw water, treat the coagulated contaminants at a high rate, and then discharge the contaminants at a high flow rate; can remove contaminants without separately using chemical additives and thus is environmentally friendly; has a high backwash efficiency for removal of collected contaminants and thus has an extended life cycle; and is very economical in operation and thus can be diversely applied in various water treatment fields.
