Abstract:
A water-vapor-permeable membrane which comprises a dense layer and a support layer adjoining the dense layer. The dense layer has voids therein having a void length of 0.1 µm or shorter and has a thickness of 0.1-2 µm. In the support layer: a region ranging from the boundary between the dense layer and the support layer to a thickness-direction depth of 2 µm from the boundary has voids, of which the longest void (a) has a void length of 0.3 µm or longer; and a region ranging from a thickness-direction depth of 2 µm from the boundary to a thickness-direction depth of 4 µm from the boundary has voids, of which the longest void (b) has a void length of 0.5 µm or longer. The length of the void (b) is longer than the length of the void (a). The water-vapor-permeable membrane combines high water-vapor permeability with low air leakage.
