Abstract:
A wave coil spring configured by forming a strip-shaped spring member (1) in a wave shape which has alternately repeated peaks (P) and troughs (B) and helically looping the strip-shaped spring member. The first loop (1A) next to an end of the spring member is disposed in such a manner that the peaks (P) in the first loop (1A) face the peaks (P) in the second loop (1B) and that the troughs (B) in the first loop (1A) face the toughs (B) in the second loop (1B). The height of the wave shape of the first loop (1A) is adjusted so that regions in which the first loop (1A) and the second loop (1B) adjacent to the first loop are separated from each other are present between the first and second loops (1A, 1B) when the wave coil spring is subjected to an axial compression load.
