Abstract:
A wave gear device (1) has a rigid internally toothed gear (2), a flexible externally toothed gear (3), and a wave generator (4) which causes the externally toothed gear (3) to flex and partially mesh with the internally toothed gear (2), and causes the meshed positions of the two gears to move in a circumferential direction. The externally toothed gear (3) is a helical externally toothed gear, and the internally toothed gear (2) is a helical internally toothed gear. External teeth (3e) of the externally toothed gear (3) are divided into multiple sets of teeth in a tooth trace direction. A wave gear device can be achieved in which continuous meshing is possible using the helical pattern, without causing meshing interference.
