Abstract:
A wave generator (4) of a wave gear device (1) comprises: a rigid plug (5); a wave bearing (7) mounted to an ellipsoidal outer peripheral surface (6) thereof; and four elastic claws (11) that rotate integrally with the rigid plug (5). Balls (10) in the wave bearing (7) include balls (10a) in a loose state, and balls (10b) in a tight state. Directly before balls in a loose state adjacent to balls in a tight state transition into a tight state, braking power is added by the elastic claws (11), the orbital motion is temporarily prevented or suppressed, and the gaps between balls in a tight state is ensured. It is thus possible to prevent increases in rotational torque and ball damage caused by contact by balls in a tight state.
