Title:
WAVELENGTH CONVERSION APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/214897
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A wavelength conversion apparatus (100A) is configured such that the efficiency of optical coupling to an optical waveguide core (11) is not easily changed, the effective refractive index of the core (11) due to the photoelastic effect of thermal stress is not easily changed, and therefore the light intensity of output becomes stable. The wavelength conversion apparatus adopts a mounting structure (101A) in which a material for a substrate (12A) of a wavelength conversion element (13A) has a lower index of refraction for signal light than a material for the core (11), and support structure bodies (29A) that, when elastic deformation due to thermal stress of the element (13A) occurs, support the element (13A) by contact of the respective leading end top surfaces thereof at positions corresponding to both end portions of the core (11) and suppress the elastic deformation are provided. The support structure bodies (29A) are provided at locations distant from a temperature control element (26) on the upper surface of a metal housing bottom surface member (28), and the top surfaces thereof are disposed close to portions of a support member (27) that correspond to the both end portions of the core (11) in the element (13A).
