The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wavelength conversion member with which it is particularly possible to minimize the occurrence of black discoloration to a greater extent than in the prior art, and to provide a light-emitting device, a light-emitting element, a light source device, and a display device that use the wavelength conversion member. This wavelength conversion member (1) is characterized by having: a container (2) equipped with a light-incident surface (2a) and a light-exit surface (2b) facing the light-incident surface (2a), and provided with a housing space (5) further to the inside than are the light-incident surface (2a) and the light-exit surface (2b); and a wavelength conversion layer (3) having quantum dots arranged inside the housing space, the distance (L1) between the light-incident surface and the wavelength conversion layer being greater than the distance (L2) between the light-exit surface and the wavelength conversion layer.
