Abstract:
Provided is a wavelength-conversion member with which leakage of excitation light in the ultraviolet region to the outside can be suppressed readily. This wavelength-conversion member is used to convert excitation light having a wavelength of 250-280 nm to visible light, and is characterized by containing a glass matrix and a phosphor dispersed in the glass matrix, and in that the glass matrix has a total light transmission at the wavelengths of 250-280 nm of 0.1-80% at a thickness of 1 mm.
