Abstract:
Provided are a wavelength conversion member with which chromaticity can be adjusted with a high degree of precision, and a production method therefor. A wavelength conversion member 1 comprising a first main surface 1a and a second main surface 1b which face one another, the wavelength conversion member 1 being characterized by comprising a glass matrix 2 and fluorescent particles 3 disposed in the glass matrix 2, wherein the concentration of fluorescent particles 3 in the first main surface 1a and the second main surface 1b is lower than the concentration of fluorescent particles 3 in surface layer bottom faces 1c, 1d which are 20μm on the inner side from the first main surface 1a and the second main surface 1b.
