Abstract:
Provided is a wavelength conversion member which has high wavelength conversion efficiency. This wavelength conversion member is characterized by comprising: a wavelength conversion layer 2 which has a first main surface 2a, a second main surface 2b, and a lateral surface 2c that connects the first main surface 2a and the second main surface 2b to each other, and which is excited upon incidence of excitation light A and emits fluorescent light; and a reflective layer 4 which is provided on the first main surface 2a of the wavelength conversion layer 2. This wavelength conversion member is also characterized in that: the reflective layer 4 has a first opening 4a to the first main surface 2a, and the reflective layer 4 covers the entire surface of the first main surface 2a except for the portion corresponding to the first opening 4a.
