A wavelength conversion substrate (100) provided with a transparent substrate (21), and a light output part having at least three kinds of different output wavelength distributions arranged independently of each other on one surface (21a) of the transparent substrate (21), wherein the light output part comprises a lattice-shaped black matrix (22), partition walls (23) provided on the black matrix (22), and a color filter layer (24) through which part of incident light is transmitted into a plurality of regions demarcated by the partition walls (23) and/or a wavelength conversion layer (25) which absorbs the incident light and outputs light having different wavelength distributions, and the wavelength conversion layer (25) is formed from a material that outputs light including output wavelength distributions outputted from a first light output part (51) and a second light output part (52).
