Abstract:
This wavelength-variable laser (10) comprises, in this order, a substrate (101), a waveguide layer, and cladding (104). Said laser further comprises: an active layer (103) disposed in a section of the waveguide layer; a wavelength selection filter (105) disposed in at least one end region of the waveguide layer; and a barrier region (106) disposed between a cladding layer and at least a section of the waveguide layer not including the active layer. Due to this configuration, the present invention can provide a wavelength-variable laser that easily suppresses a decrease in light output.
