Abstract:
A weak-anchoring liquid crystal alignment agent according to the present invention contains a component (A) and a component (B). Component (A): A polymer comprising a structural unit represented by formula (1). Component (B): At least any of a thermally curable monomer, and a polymer selected from polyimide precursors, polyimides, polyureas, polyurethanes, polyesters, polyamides, polyacrylates, polyolefins, and polyorganosiloxanes (provided that the component (B) differs from the component (A)). (In formula (1), A1 and A2 are each independently a divalent organic group, A1 and/or A2 has a divalent organic group represented by formula (PG), and * indicates a bonding site.) (In formula (PG), R denotes a C1-5 alkyl group, m is an integer of 5 or greater, and * indicates a bonding site.)
