An electronic device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a wireless communication circuit; a display; a sensor, which is based on first, second and third axes that are orthogonal to each other, and has a plane which is formed by the first axis and the second axis and which is parallel to the screen of the display; and a processor electrically connected to the display, the wireless communication circuit, and the sensor, wherein the processor can be configured to: acquire, through the sensor, first inclination information including an inclination value changed with respect to an initial value of the third axis; receive, through the wireless communication circuit, second inclination information about the external electronic device from an external electronic device connected to enable communication with the electronic device, the second inclination information including an inclination value changed with respect to the initial value of a fourth axis of the external electronic device corresponding to the gaze direction of the user while the external electronic device is worn by the user; and determine whether to output the first content onto the screen on the basis of the angle between the third and fourth axes acquired by means of the first inclination information and the second inclination information.
