Abstract:
A weaving machine is provided with: a pair of upper and lower heddle supports (11, 12) that catch together with a pair of upper and lower catching parts (10a, 10b) provided on upper and lower parts of a heddle (10); a frame that supports the upper and lower heddle supports (11, 12); a pair of upper and lower magnets (14, 15) provided with a prescribed intervening space from the upper and lower ends (10d, 10e) of the heddle; and a detection unit (16) that detects attachment of the heddle (10) to the upper and lower magnets (14, 15). When the frame moves in the upward direction, the upper magnet (14) is moved into proximity with the heddle (10) and the lower magnet (15) is separated from the heddle (10). When the frame moves in the downward direction, the lower magnet (15) is moved into proximity with the heddle (10) and the upper magnet (14) is separated from the heddle (10). When warp (5) is not severed, the heddle (10) does not attach to the upper and lower magnets (14, 15), and when the warp (5) is severed, the heddle (10) attaches to the upper or lower magnets (14, 15).
