Abstract:

When a pretensioner mechanism (38) is actuated and rotation of a pinion (40) with respect to a spool (16) is permitted in this webbing winding apparatus, a lock pawl (56) is rotated by the pinion (40) so that the lock pawl (56) cuts a trigger wire (54). Then, the pinion (4) is made to rotate further with respect to the lock pawl (56), cutting a lock pin (56C) of the lock pawl (56), thereby causing the lock pawl (56) to rotate, which causes an actuating mechanism (52) to operate. This enables the actuating mechanism (52) to operate even if a torsion shaft (32) of a force limiter mechanism (30) does not permit a lock base (36) to rotate with respect to the spool (16) in the winding direction.
