Abstract:
As a method and a device for removing weft from a tire fabric for topping sheet in
a calender line for topping rubber by means of a calender roll on a large number
of arranged cords, weft pieces cut finely are not left but can be removed certainly
and easily. In the middle of feeding a tire fabric (F) to a calender device, the
tire fabric (F) is passed through a weft cutting means and cut finely, and then
a plurality of blades (45) arranged movably in the width direction on the upper
surface side of the tire fabric (F) are reciprocated in the width direction over
the entire width to abut against the tire fabric (F) such that each cord (C) of the
tire fabric (F) is beaten continuously by each blade (45) thus brushing off and
removing the cut weft pieces (W1).
