Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method of quantifying impact load to be applied to a weighing apparatus using an electrical output from a mass sensor, and to provide a weighing apparatus wherein the degree of the impact is disclosed to users so as to prevent damage to the mass sensor. [Solution] In a weighing apparatus, which is provided with a weighing unit that has an object to be weighed placed thereupon, and a mass sensor that receives the mass × acceleration of gravity as a load and measures the mass from an electrical signal corresponding to the structural displacement to be generated within the apparatus due to the load, the amount of the displacement is quantified and stored, and acceleration is obtained by executing a numerical calculation of the displacement data. Since the acceleration obtained as a result of executing a numerical calculation of the amount of displacement indicates the degree of impact applied to the weighing apparatus, which indicates the acceleration received by the mass sensor, whether or not the weighing apparatus was used in an impactive manner, which was conventionally unclear, can be quantified (represented by numerical values).
