Abstract:
In a butt weld structure wherein at least one of the base metals having brittle fracture arresting characteristics (Kca)of more than 4000N/mm1.5 are butt-weld, at least one of the butt joints has a brittle fracture arresting structure including an arresting butt joint (6) that has an arrestor member having brittle fracture arresting characteristics (Kca)of more than 6000N/mm1.5 and a steel plate 1. The outer sides of the arrestor member are inclined by 15°-50° with respect to the longwise direction of the weld, the outer sides diverting brittle fracture along the side from the base metals.
