The objective of the present invention is to provide a weld measuring system and a weld measuring method capable of regularly imaging a welding phenomenon, in manual arc welding in which the movement speed of a torch varies irregularly. To this end, this weld measuring system for measuring a welding phenomenon in manual arc welding is provided with: a camera rail arranged along a welding line; a camera capable of moving along the camera rail; a camera drive device for driving the camera; and a computer for detecting the position of the arc in an image captured by the camera, and controlling the camera drive device in such a way that the camera moves at a speed whereby the position of the arc is consequently displayed in a prescribed region within the image captured by the camera.
