Abstract:
A welded state monitoring device and method for monitoring on-line the state
of an electric-resistance welded pipe, such as the welded state, or the butted
state, more correctly than conventional. A mirror (23) provided at a one-end
portion in a case (21) receives light emitted from a welded portion (5) of a cylindrical
steel sheet (1) sideways through heat-resistance glass (22) to project the image
of the welded portion (5) toward a relay lens (24) provided to the root-end portion
in a relay lens unit (13). The relay lens (24) transmits the image of the welded
portion (5) to a converter lens (12), and the converter lens (12) forms the image
onto the imaging surface of a CCD camera (11). Therefore, the welded portion
(5) can be imaged sideways with a resolution corresponding to the resolution
of the CCD camera (11), and information on the welded portion (5) can be collected
on-line more correctly than conventional.
