Abstract:
A welded structural member having excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance comprises a 7000-series aluminum alloy material having a metallic structure which comprises chemical components including 6.6 to 8.5 mass% of Zn, 1.0 to 2.1 mass% of Mg, 0.10 to 0.20 mass% of Zr, 0.001 to 0.05 mass% of Ti and a remainder made up by Al and unavoidable impurities and is a fibrous structure and another aluminum alloy material welded to the 7000-series aluminum alloy material, wherein the requirement represented by the formula: 0.120 ≤ (Y/X-1) ≤ 0.250 is satisfied wherein the electrical conductivity of the 7000-series aluminum alloy material before an artificial aging treatment is represented by X%IACS and the electrical conductivity of the 7000-series aluminum alloy material after the artificial aging treatment is represented by Y%IACS, and the difference between the electrical conductivity of a matrix zone excluding a weld heat affected zone in the 7000-series aluminum alloy material and the electrical conductivity of the weld heat affected zone is within 5%IACS.
