Abstract:
A welded header/nozzle structure is provided in which the creep characteristics and long-term fatigue damage resistance of each nozzle (4) can be improved without interposing another member between the nozzle (4) and the header (2), that is, without increasing the number of parts. The welded header/nozzle structure comprises a header (2) constituted of a ferritic steel and a plurality of nozzles (4) having a bent part which have been connected to the outer peripheral wall of the header (2) by welding. The nozzles (4) are constituted of an austenitic stainless steel. The nozzles (4), which are constituted of an austenitic stainless steel, are connected to the header (2) with a welding material comprising a nickel-based alloy. An annular groove (10) is formed in the outer surface of the outer peripheral wall of the header (2) so that the groove (10) surrounds the position where each nozzle (4) is to be welded. A nozzle joint area (14) is formed inside the groove (10). A nozzle (4) is caused to butt on the nozzle joint area (14) so that the nozzle (4) and the nozzle joint area (14) are continuously connected to each other and have approximately the same diameter. A butt joint gap is thus formed, and is filled with a nickel-based alloy material to weld the nozzle (4) to the nozzle joint area (14).
