Abstract:
 To increase voltage applied to a discharge wire while suppressing the frequency of spark discharge occurrences, and to improve the efficiency of collecting dust, mist, or the like containing heavy metals by stipulating the lowest-limit current density. A wet electric dust collector is provided with a DC high-voltage generator for generating DC high voltage, an electrode rod 24 and discharge wire 25 as discharge electrodes to which the DC high-voltage generated by the DC high-voltage generator is applied, and a dust-collecting electrode 12 for collecting dust, mist, or the like by negative corona discharge occurring between the discharge electrodes on the basis of the DC high-voltage. A voltage of at least 65 kV is applied between the discharge electrodes and the dust-collecting electrode 12, and a current having a current density stipulated at 0.1 mA/m2 or greater flows to the dust-collecting electrode 12. The capacitance of a capacitor is set on the basis of the voltage ripple rate between the discharge electrodes and the dust-collecting electrode.
