Abstract:
A wet paper conveyance belt (1) comprises a wet paper side layer (31) containing
hydrophilic fibers (30), and a machine side layer (32). A basic cloth (33) provided
in the belt is composed by laminating a first woven cloth (34) arranged on the wet
paper (W) side, and a second woven cloth (35) arranged on the press roll (10) side.
A part of the hydrophilic fibers (30) is exposed to the surface (37) of the wet
paper side layer (31). The weft (36) of the first woven cloth (34) and the second
woven cloth (35) is a yarn of low water absorption coefficient. When the hydrophilic
fibers (30) are formed in the wet paper side layer (31) of the belt (1) by needle
punch, the dimensional extension of the belt width due to water absorbing action
of the hydrophilic fibers (30) can be suppressed.
