Abstract:
A wet smelting plant for nickel oxide ore that comprises a plurality of series of processing facilities is provided in which, even when a serious trouble occurred somewhere in the processing facilities, it is possible to minimize the reduction in throughput to be caused by the trouble and to quickly recover the stationary state of operation after elimination of the serious trouble. Also provided is a method for operating the wet smelting plant.
The wet smelting plant for nickel oxide ore comprises a plurality of series of processing facilities, each series including facilities for a pretreatment step, a leaching step, a solid-liquid separation step, a neutralization step, a zinc removal step, a sulfurization step, and a detoxification step, wherein connecting piping which has a valve is disposed between the piping for sending liquid from the solid-liquid separation step to the neutralization step of one series and the piping for sending liquid from the solid-liquid separation step to the neutralization step of another and/or between the piping for sending liquid from the sulfurization step to the detoxification step of one series and the piping for sending liquid from the sulfurization step to the detoxification step of another.
