Abstract:

Bearing clearances are set to negative clearances by dimensional control so as to improve bearing rigidity. A slinger for a seal device (13) becoming the rotary side has mounted thereon an encoder (81) having multiple magnetic poles, while an outer member (10) becoming the stationary side is provided with a sensor section (82) for detecting a change in magnetic flux caused by the rotation of the encoder (81), so that the rpm of the rotary side is detected on the basis of the detection data from the sensor section (82). The high bearing rigidity ensures that even when a moment load is imposed on the bearing device, the width of an air gap between the encoder (81) and the sensor section (82) is accurately maintained.
