Title:
WHEEL HUB HAVING A FREEWHEEL AND BRAKING FUNCTION IN BOTH ROTATIONAL DIRECTIONS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/175071
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wheel hub, comprising a hub sleeve, an axle extending through the longitudinal axis of the hub sleeve, the hub sleeve being rotationally movable about the longitudinal axis and relative to the axle, a thread which is provided on the axle and is driven from outside and rotationally movable relative to the hub sleeve, and a sliding sleeve that surrounds the axle and the thread, meshes with the thread and is axially movable along the axle by means of a rotational movement of the thread, the sliding sleeve comprising a right and a left part, one of which meshing with the thread. According to the invention, an axially movable coupling body is associated with each of said two parts, and each part of the sliding sleeve, with the coupling body associated thereto, has a synchronous toothing engaging in the axial direction and having several inclined surfaces, which are distributed along the circumference and can be placed on each other, on the part of the sliding sleeve and the coupling body. A free space is provided between the respectively cooperating inclined surfaces of a coupling body and the associated part of the sliding sleeve, thereby allowing a play between these two components in the circumferential direction, and the coupling body is axially displaceable by a rotational movement of the sliding sleeve and can be connected to the hub sleeve in a force-fitting manner. Furthermore, the essentially symmetrical structure of the wheel hub causes a force-fitting connection from the thread to the hub sleeve as a function of the rotational direction of the thread via the one or the other part of the sliding sleeve and the respectively associated coupling body.
