Abstract:
This wheel loader (1) is provided with: a cab (6), front wheels (3a), a front frame (5a) which rotatably supports the front wheels (3a), a bucket (32), a boom (31) which is connected at the distal end to the bucket (32) and which is rotatably supported at the proximal end by the front frame (5a), a sensor (40) for measuring the distance between a loading target and the front wheels (3a), and a controller which controls operation of the wheel loader (1). If the distance measured by the sensor (40) falls to or below a threshold value due to travel of the wheel loader (1), the controller causes the wheel loader to perform a prescribed operation for collision avoidance.
