Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a wheelchair in which spokes and the like do not get in the way when operating hand rims, hands and clothing are not dirtied by wheels, and cuffs and the like of clothing do not get caught up in the hand rims. [Solution] A wheelchair (1) includes hand rims (10) positioned on the left and right side of a frame (2), running wheels (11) positioned on the left and right sides of the frame (2), and drive-transmitting parts (20) that transmit the drive power of the hand rims (10) to the running wheels (11), wherein the hand rims (10) are provided with hand rim gears (12) along the inner peripheral surface thereof, and the drive-transmitting parts (20) include hubless gears (21) that engage with the hand rim gears (12), drive shafts (23) of the hubless gears (21), hand rim-supporting rollers (22) that support the outer peripheral surface (13) of the hand rims (10), and drive-transmitting means (30) that transmit the drive power of the drive shafts (23) to the running wheels (11).
