Abstract:

Provided are a white pigment dispersion with excellent storage stability in which the white pigment contained is less likely to precipitate, an ink composition that uses the white pigment dispersion, and an image formation method that uses the ink composition.　A white pigment dispersion including at least a specific white pigment, a polymer dispersant, and an aqueous liquid as a solvent or dispersion medium, wherein the specific white pigment is titanium dioxide that has been surface treated by at least alumina, the polymer dispersant has a structure in which a water-soluble molecular chain is grafted onto a main chain having a pigment-adsorbing group, the overall weight average molecular weight is from 2000 to 50,000, the weight average molecular weight of the graft chain is from 150 to 3000, and the difference between the lightness L value of a coating film obtained using the white pigment dispersion before centrifugation and the lightness L value of a coating film obtained using the supernatant after centrifugation is less than 25.
