Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a white polyester film adapted for sealant applications, said white polyester film having a high heat-seal strength, and being resistant to the adsorption of a variety of organic compounds, and moreover exhibiting little shrinkage when heated. Said white polyester film is constituted of a polyester resin having ethylene terephthalate as the main constituent component thereof and satisfies following prescribed requirements: said white polyester film having (1) at least two or more layers in the film and having at least one white layer and one heat seal layer, with the surface layer of at least one of the film surfaces being the heat seal layer; (2) the peel strength between heat seal layers; (3) the difference in reversible heat capacity between before and after the glass transition temperature of the heat seal layer; (4) the heat-shrinkage ratio in the length direction and width direction when treated for 10 seconds in 80°C hot water; (5) the total light transmittance; and (6) the apparent specific gravity.
