Provided are a WiFi connection method and apparatus, for use in a first electronic device. The method comprises: for each character in a first character string and a second character string, encoding the character to obtain an IP address corresponding to the character, wherein the first character string is a service set identifier of a WiFi network to be accessed by a second electronic device, and the second character string is the password of the WiFi network to be accessed by the second electronic device; mapping an IP address corresponding to each character to a MAC address; and periodically sending each MAC address obtained by means of mapping and which serves as a multicast frame of a destination address to the second electronic device, so that the second electronic device captures and parses the multicast frame, and obtains the service set identifier and the password, so as to access the WiFi network according to the service set identifier and the password. A device can quickly access a WiFi network by using the solution provided in the embodiments of the present application.
