Title:
WIG CRAFT HAVING HYBRID PROPULSION MEANS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/122750
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a WIG craft having hybrid propulsion means, and more particularly, to a WIG craft efficiently configured with a turboprop as main propulsion means, to which a turbofan engine or turbojet engine is added as auxiliary driving means, so as to provide the WIG craft with auxiliary propulsion means that can be used as a low power source during take-off or emergency. Accordingly, by using the auxiliary driving means only during take-off, the horsepower required for mid-large WIG craft can be obtained while minimized installation space and utilizing propulsion means efficiently during take-off and airborne cruising. Also, the size of the propeller of the main propulsion means can be reduced, and the problem of reduced efficiency of turbojet/turbofan propulsion means during low speed travel can be solved.
