Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a winch device, a vessel (2) provided therewith and a method therefor. The winch device is suitable for lowering and/or raising loads (12) into and/or out of water (4), and comprises: • a drum (30, 130) onto which a cable (10, C) can be wound; and • a spooling device (18, 34, 36, 38, 39, 40) connected operatively to the drum (30, 130) for guiding the cable (10, C), wherein the drum (30, 130) is provided with a single-layer wind-up zone (42) onto which a plurality of windings (41) of the cable (10, C) can be wound. The cable length which can be placed on the single-layer wind-up zone (42) is preferably greater than the distance from the winch device to the water surface (6). Further, a winch device is disclosed which comprises in addition a flange (150), arranged on a side of the drum (130), wherein the flange (150) is provided with guides (152) such that the cable (C), during winding thereof onto the drum (130), is guided during reversal of the winding direction (X).
