Abstract:
The present invention easily and accurately estimates the wind direction and/or wind velocity at a desired position even without using a wind direction/wind velocity sensor. A movement instruction means (32) of a wind estimation system (1) instructs an unmanned aerial vehicle (10) to move, the unmanned aerial vehicle (10) being provided with a sensor unit (14) for detecting information that pertains to changes in position. A fall control means (34) causes the unmanned aerial vehicle (10) to enter freefall after the unmanned aerial vehicle (10) has moved due to the instruction from the movement instruction means (32). An estimation means (39) estimates the wind direction and/or the wind velocity at the fall position on the basis of the information that pertains to changes in position as detected by the sensor unit (14) while the unmanned aerial vehicle (10) is falling.
