Abstract:
Provided is a wind turbine blade that improves performance by a winglet formed at the tip end of the blade. The wind turbine blade (1) comprises a winglet (3) having the tip end side thereof curved toward the blade ventral side (7) with respect to an adjacent section (9) that is located adjacent to the blade root side, wherein the cant angle, which is the angle formed between the blade axis (13) of the winglet (3) and a line (11a) extrapolated in the radial direction from the blade axis (11) of the adjacent section (9), is from 15° to 55° inclusive. The winglet (3) includes: a tip end section (3a) that is located on the tip end side of the winglet and of which the blade axis (13) is substantially rectilinear; and a curved section (3b) that is located on the base end side of the winglet and curved with respect to the adjacent section (9). The curved section (3b) is gradually curved in a manner so as to satisfy the predetermined cant angle.
