The invention relates to a wind turbine (100) comprising a tower (102), an aerodynamic rotor (106), wherein said aerodynamic rotor (106) can be operated at a variable rotor speed (n) and has a plurality of rotor blades (108), each having an adjustable rotor blade angle (ɑ), and a generator (Gen) for generating an electrical output power, wherein an operating characteristic curve for operating the wind turbine (100) is specified which indicates a relationship between the rotor speed (n) and the output power (P). Furthermore, a controller is provided which adjusts the output power (P) in accordance with the operating characteristic curve as a function of the rotor speed (n), wherein said operating characteristic curve has a starting rotational speed to which the rotor speed increases as soon as the wind turbine starts, upon a sufficient wind speed being reached, said starting rotational speed being set depending on a natural frequency of the wind turbine tower and/or on a recorded turbulence measurement of the prevailing wind.
