Abstract:
The disclosed wiping device comprises a first pressing head; a second pressing head which is disposed so as to be capable of vertical movement at a position adjacent to a first pressing head on the downstream side thereof in the direction in which a display panel is transported, and which presses a long sheet against the panel by moving downward; and a sheet-reversing means for reversing the long sheet so that the surface that is pressed against the terminal portion of the panel by the first pressing head is the reverse surface from the surface that is pressed against the terminal portion of the panel by the second pressing head. In the process of transporting the display panel in the transportation direction, the long sheet is made to slide across the terminal portion of the panel with a prescribed pressing force while in a dry state, before the cleaning liquid is supplied thereto via the cleaning liquid feeding nozzle, in order to wipe moisture from the terminal portion of the panel.
