Abstract:
Disclosed is a wiping tape which is capable of cleaning the surface of a magnetic disk, while suppressing contamination of the magnetic disk by lint derived from the wiping tape. Also disclosed is a wiping method. A wiping tape (1) is used in a wiping process of a magnetic disk, and comprises a supporting body (2) which is mainly composed of one of a nonwoven fabric, a woven fabric or a knitted fabric, and a coating layer (3) covering the supporting body (2). The coating layer (3) is a solid layer mainly composed of a resin and has a thickness within the range of 0.5-10 μm.
