Abstract:
In order to provide a wire discharge machining device which is provided with an automatic wire threading device for more reliably passing a wire electrode through an starting hole, the wire discharge machining device of the present invention comprises an automatic wire threading device (1) which includes: a feed roller (10) that is provided higher up than a starting hole (4) and feeds a wire electrode (2) toward the starting hole; and a vertical drive device (30) that is provided between the feed roller and the starting hole, and supplies compressed air in the upward direction and downward direction to drive the wire electrode up and down by minute amounts. The vertical drive device includes wire guides (32, 82) having guide holes through which the wire electrode is passed. The wire guides (32, 82) are constructed so that upward movement by compressed air is possible.
