Abstract:

A wire electric discharge machine for machining a work (1) through discharge by moving a wire electrode (5) and the work (1) relatively through a drive means (9) and supplying machining energy between the wire electrode (5) and the pole of the work (1), comprising a machining energy regulating means (13) for reducing the machining energy per unit moving distance of the wire electrode (5) when the distance between an approach point (O) for connecting the approach part (4) of relative moving path of the wire electrode (5) and the work (1) with a machining shape part (2) and the center of the wire electrode (5) at the machining shape part (2) falls with a range where the machining volume of the work (1) per unit moving distance of the wire electrode (5) decreases. Formation of a bite (6) in the machining face of the work (1) can be suppressed in the vicinity of the approach point (O).
