Provided is a wire gripper which is easily grasped with fingers, and with which a leading end side can be easily lifted. The wire gripper 10 is provided with: a wire gripper main body member 12 provided with a fixed gripping body part 20 and a coupling member guidance part 26; an operation member 14 which is attached to the wire gripper main body member 12 so as to be capable of swinging; a movable gripping body member 16 provided with a linear body holding part 22; and a coupling member 72 which is coupled to the operation member 14 by a rotational shaft 72, and which causes the operation member 14 to swing. A grasping part 500, of which much of the weight is distributed to the wire gripper main body member 12, the operation member 14, and the movable gripping body member 16 by the coupling member 72, and which is set so as to have a weight distribution whereby the side towards which the coupling member 72 is pushed back is heavier than the side towards which the coupling member is pulled, is provided at the side towards which the coupling member 72 is pulled and in an area close to the centre of gravity, said grasping part being for grasping the wire gripper. The grasping part 500 is configured from a coupling member main body part of the coupling member 72, and the coupling member guidance part 26 which is provided to the pulling side of the wire gripper main body member 12 so as to protrude downwards. Furthermore, the grasping part is formed so as to be grasped by fingers and/or the palm of the hand.
