Description:

WIRE GUIDING DEVICE

Technical field of the invention

The present invention relates to a wire guiding device.

Technical background

When cutting in concrete with a wire saw, wire guiding devices are used to guide the saw wire where it leaves the wire saw and where it re-enters the wire saw. Also, when the saw wire has to be guided further e.g. in order to lead it past an obstacle or if the wire saw for some reason is placed at a large distance from the object to be machined with the saw wire, further wire guides may be arranged in the form of from the wire saw separated units.

A device for guiding of a saw wire of the above mentioned kind is shown in EP 0 766 613 Bl, where the wire guiding device comprises wheels pivotable 360° around a shaft arranged perpendicularly to the plane of the wheel and consisting of a cylindrical tube.

A problem with wire guiding devices of the above mentioned kind is that they are difficult to clean from the residue material which at wire sawing is collected around the cylindrical shaft. A further problem with wire guiding devices of the above mentioned kind is that one has to cut the wire, pass it through the housing of the wire guiding device, and to thereafter join it together again before wire sawing can be started.

Summary of the invention

The problem of that one has to cut the wire, pass it through the housing of the wire guiding device, and to thereafter join it together again before wire sawing can be started is solved according to the invention by arranging a wire guiding device as claimed in claim 1.

By that the device comprises the characteristics of claim 1, the advantage of achieving a wire guiding device used when guiding a saw wire and which is quick and easy to mount and

dismantle is attained. By that the housing of the wire guiding device is arranged with a slit it is possible to simply place the wire in the wire guiding device instead of as in prior known wire guiding devices to have to cut the wire, pass it through the housing of the wire guiding device, and to thereafter join it together again before wire sawing can be started. Hereby the transition times are significantly decreased.

Description of preferred embodiments

Figure 1 shows schematically a view of a wire saw 2 with saw wire 4 and a number of wire guiding devices 6, 8, 10, 12. As can be seen from the figure, wire guiding devices 6, 8 are arranged to guide the saw wire 4 where it leaves the wire saw 2 and where it re-enters the wire saw 2. Further, when the saw wire 4 has to be guided further as here exemplified by that the saw wire 4 has to be lead past an obstacle 14 in order to be able to reach the body 16 which is to be machined with the saw wire 4, preferably further wire guide devices 10, 12 are arranged in the form of from the wire saw 4 separated units 10, 12. In the figure, a situation is exemplified where the wire saw 2, which often is stable and thereby also heavy, is placed on a floor 18 in a narrow room 20 and where the body that is to be machined, i.e. cut off, is a concrete beam 16 placed above an obstacle 14 which may not be damaged, whereby various wire guiding devices 6, 8, 10, 12 have to be arranged in order to not to damage the obstacle 14 here shown in the form of district heating pipe.

Figure 2 shows schematically an exploded view of a wire guiding device 6, 8, 10, 12 according to a first embodiment of the invention, where the wire guiding device comprises a housing 22 and an to the housing 22 movably connected wire guiding unit 24. The wire guiding unit 24 is movably connected to the housing 22 by that a fastening device 26 which keeps the housing 22 and the wire guiding unit 24 together runs along a slot 28 arranged in the wire guiding device 6, 8, 10, 12, which slot 28 preferably is arranged in the housing 22 according to what is shown in the figure. The fastening device 26 preferably comprises two fastening units in the form of a screw 30 and a grooved nut 32. The wire guiding unit 24 preferably comprises a pivoted wheel 34 and a carrier 36 for the pivoted wheel 34 which carrier 36 preferably is designed as a forked holder. Further, the housing 22 of the wire guiding device 2 is arranged as an elongated hollow body with a slit 38 which slit 38 runs right through the wall 40 of the housing 22 from one end 42 of the housing 22 to the other end 44 of the housing 22 as seen in the axial direction of the housing 22. The housing 22 is preferably arranged as a slitted cylindrical tube, but may also have another cross section shape than circular as long as the housing 22 and the wire guiding unit 24 show against each other directed surfaces 46, 48 that make possible the said movable connection between the housing 22 and the wire guiding unit 24, e.g. by that these surfaces are machined to corresponding

cicular arc shapes. The said in the housing 22 arranged slot 28 is arranged as an elongated hole whereby it does not cross said slit 38. The slot 28 is preferably arranged in a plane across the longitudinal axis A of the housing 22, but may also be arranged wholly or partly in another direction as long as the wire guiding unit 24 is pivotable in relation to the housing 22 around the longitudinal axis A of the housing 22.

Preferably, the slot 28 is arranged in the housing 22 according to what is described in the embodiment above, but it is also possible to instead arrange the slot in the wire guiding unit 24 this e.g. by arranging the wire guiding unit 24 with an inside the housing 22 arranged carrier for the pivoted wheel 34 in the form of a slitted sleeve in which sleeve the slot is arranged and to which sleeve a fork with a pivoted wheel 34 is attached.

Figure 3 shows schematically a view of a wire guiding arrangement 50 according to a first embodiment of the invention, which arrangement comprises two wire guiding devices 6, 8 according to figure 2 and which arrangement further comprises a fastening unit 52 to which these wire guiding devices 6, 8 are permanently or detachably fixed by e.g. welding, rivets, screwed joints, friction joints or in another way. The fastening unit 52 may in turn be mounted on e.g. a wire saw 2 or on a wire guiding arrangement holder or a floor, a ceiling, a wall or similar in known way as e.g. with a bolt 54.

Figure 4 shows schematically a partly exploded view of a wire guiding arrangement 50 according to figure 3, where it from the figure is evident how the housing 22 of the wire guiding device and the to the housing 22 movably connected wire guiding unit 24 are connected by that a fastening device 26 which keeps the housing 22 and the wire guiding unit 24 together runs along a in the housing 22 arranged slot 28, where the fastening device 26 preferably comprises two fastening units in the form of a screw 30 and a grooved nut 32, as has been described above in connection with figure 2.

Figure 5 shows schematically a view of a wire guiding arrangement 54 according to a second embodiment of the invention, which arrangement comprises two wire guiding devices 10, 12 according to figure 2 where the housings 56, 58 of both of the wire guiding devices 10, 12 are integrated with each other to a single housing 60 and which arrangement further comprises a

fastening unit 62 to which this single integrated housing 60 is permanently or detachably fixed by e.g. welding, rivets, screwed joints, friction joints or in another way. The fastening unit 62 may in turn be mounted on e.g. a wire saw or on a wire guiding arrangement holder 64 or a floor, a ceiling, a wall or similar in known way as e.g. with a bolt 66. If the fastening unit 62 is mounted on a wire guiding arrangement holder 64 this may in turn be mounted on e.g. a floor, a ceiling, a wall or similar in known way as e.g. with a bolt 68.

Figure 6 shows schematically a view of a wire guiding arrangement 54 according to a third embodiment of the invention, which arrangement differs from the one described in figure 5 in that it comprises more than one fastening unit 62, 70 to which the single integrated housing 60 is permanently or detachably fixed by e.g. welding, rivets, screwed joints, friction joints or in another way. The fastening units 62, 70 may in turn be mounted on e.g. a wire saw or a wire guiding arrangement holder 64 or a floor, a ceiling, a wall or similar in known way as e.g. with a bolt 66. If the fastening unit 62, 70 is mounted on a wire guiding arrangement holder 64 this may in turn be mounted on e.g. a floor, a ceiling, a wall or similar in known way as e.g. with a bolt 68. By arranging more than one fastening unit 62, 70, the wire guiding arrangement may be mounted in different ways depending on those angles one wishes to cover when guiding of a saw wire.

Figure 7 shows schematically a view of a wire guiding arrangement 54 according to a fourth embodiment of the invention, which arrangement differs from the one described in figure 6 in that the single integrated housing 60 shows a slit 38 of a shape not previously shown in figures 2-6 that only have shown examples of straight slits. By that the slit 38 is "S-shaped" as is evident from the figure, the wire guiding arrangement may in another way cover those angles one wishes to cover when guiding of a saw wire.

It is of course possible to arrange a slit of the kind shown in figure 7, i.e. a slit of a shape other than straight shape, in a housing according to the embodiments described in figures 2-6.

The invention thus relates to a wire guiding device where the wire guiding device 6, 8, 10, 12 comprises a housing 22 and an to the housing 22 movably connected wire guiding unit 24, and where the housing 22 is arranged as an elongated hollow body with a slit 38 which slit 38

runs right through the wall 40 of the housing 22 from one end 42 of the housing 22 to the other end 44 of the housing 22 as seen in the axial direction A of the housing for simple placing of a saw wire 4 therein, and where further the wire guiding unit 24 is pivotally connected to the housing 22 by a fastening device 26 which runs along a slot 28 in the form of an elongated hole arranged in the wire guiding device 6, 8, 10, 12.
