Abstract:
Disclosed is a wire harness which: makes the terminal part of the wire harness waterproof without using a fluid waterproofing agent; further simplifies the safety measures and steps involved in manufacturing wire harnesses; and contributes to further cost reduction. The waterproof section (5) of the wire harness (1) terminal is equipped with: a contracted thermal contraction tube (10) that encapsulates a wire bundle terminal section (6); and a hardened material (20) of a single thermosetting resin that fills the inside of the thermal contraction tube (10), thereby covering bare wire sections (7, 8). The hardened material (20) is the sole inclusion other than the wire bundle terminal section (6) encapsulated by the thermal contraction tube (10). The hardened material (20) is formed by heating the thermal contraction tube (10), which encapsulates only the wire bundle terminal section (6) and the solid material of the thermosetting resin, from the outside, and then by curing the melted thermosetting resin after impregnating the area that covers the bare wire sections (7, 8) inside the contracted thermal contraction tube (10).
