Abstract:

Provided are a wire rod for cold heading quality capable of reducing softening treatment time, and a method for manufacturing same. A wire rod for cold heading quality of the present invention comprises, in weight %, 0.15-0.5% of C, 0.02-0.4% of Si, 0.3-1.2% of Mn, 0.02-0.05% of Al, 0.03% or less of P, less than 0.01% of S, less than 0.01 of N and the remainder being Fe and other unavoidable impurities. The internal structure thereof comprises a proeutectoid ferrite structure of 20-90 area %, 5 area % or less of bainite and martensite structures and a residual pearlite structure. 80% or higher of an equilibrium proeutectoid ferrite fraction is a proeutectoid ferrite structure having an average particle diameter of 5㎛ or less. The tensile strength of the wire rod satisfies the following relational expression 1. [Relational expression 1] TS(MPa) ≥≥ 279+864*([C]+[Si]/8+[Mn]/18)
