Abstract:
This wire rod of a Cu-Zn-Si alloy, said wire rod being obtained by up-drawing continuous casting, has a Cu content within the range of from 75.0 mass% to 76.9 mass%, an Si content within the range of from 2.6 mass% to 3.1 mass%, a Zr content within the range of from 0.003 mass% to 0.20 mass% and a P content within the range of from 0.02 mass% to 0.15 mass%, with the balance being made up of Zn and impurities. With respect to this wire rod, the number density of Zr-P compounds that contain Zr and P is within the range of from 1,500 per mm2 to 7,000 per mm2.
